I am currently a postdoctoral fellow in National Institute of Health. Before I joined NIH, I worked in Samsung Information System America (SISA) as senior research engineer. I also worked as a summer intern in SIEMENS Medical Solutions, USA; as a research engineer at Centre for Signal Processing, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; and as a software engineer in CASCO LTD., Beijing, China.
I received a Ph.D. in computer science from University of California, Santa Barbara. My advisor was Prof. Matthew Turk. I received a M. S. in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a B. E. in telecommunication and control engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China.
My research interests include Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, and Human-Computer Interaction. Particularly, my research focuses on Content-based Image Retrieval (CBIR), medical image processing, hand posture and pose estimation, gesture recognition, object detection and tracking, motion pattern recognition, video surveillance, and intelligent user interface.
